A mission to modernize tea
Creating a product that has only two ingredients
Redefining how we drink tea
Cheyne and Kory launched Tea Archives to redefine how we drink tea. The goal was to share the beauty of teas from around the world. The idea stemmed from a visit to Asia where Cheyne found that unflavoured and unsweetened teas were some of the most popular drinks on shelf - just tea in a bottle.
The problem with the market
Coming back to London, Cheyne found that the drinks market were filled with chemicals and sweeteners and wondered why tea beverages were not readily available in the UK. Most iced teas were packed with sugar, additives or flavoured with sweeteners and fruit juices, masking the flavour of tea.
Sourcing the best teas possible
Cheyne teamed up with his brother Kory to tackle this problem. Inspired from wine tasting experiences, they wanted to shine light on teas from around the world. They travelled extensively to source the best quality leaves, forcing family and friends to test 250+ teas along the way (most were not enjoyable!). They settled on a 24-hour cold brew to maximise the natural character of the tea, bringing out the depth and complexity without the stringency.
The result - a simple, two ingredient drink
Today, Tea Archives has the depth of a typical soft drink with only 2 ingredients, cold brewed tea from high quality tea leaves and a hint of cane sugar.
Just tea at its purist, refreshing and clean.
